UAVs targeted two significant enterprises involved in the Russian defense industry — the Ilysky Oil Refinery (NPP) and the "Kropotkinskaya" oil pumping station (NPS).
In the vicinity of the Ilysky NPP, at least 20 explosions were heard, followed by a fire at the facility. The Ilysky NPP consists of six oil processing units with a total capacity of 6.6 million tons per year. In February 2024, SBU drones also attacked this plant, damaging the primary oil processing unit, resulting in a loss of $50 million.
The second successful target of the Ukrainian drones was the NPS "Kropotkinskaya." This is the largest station of the "Caspian Pipeline Consortium" in Russia. As a result of the attack, the NPS ceased operations and was taken out of service. Oil is now being pumped around this station.
"Oil refineries and pumping stations in Russia are perfectly legitimate targets. They not only support Russia's defense efforts and fuel enemy troops, but they are also crucial for the Russian economy, which finances the war through oil super-profits," an informant stated.
Recall that on February 13, drones attacked the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation. Air defense forces repelled a "massive attack" on the city, according to eyewitnesses.
On the same day, explosions were reported in the Lipetsk region, where a local metallurgical plant was targeted.
