"We managed to avoid direct conflict with Russia," said Blinken.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the successful avoidance of direct conflict with Russia amid threats of nuclear weapon use. He also highlighted Russia's involvement in hybrid attacks and sabotage operations.
"Мы сумели избежать открытого конфликта с Россией", - заявил Блинкен.

The United States has managed to handle the nuclear threat from Moscow "in a way that avoids direct conflict with Russia." This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in an interview with The New York Times, as reported by UNN.

Details

When asked by reporters how close the U.S. was to a direct conflict with Russia amid its large-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the American official responded: "There were various moments when we had real concerns about actions that Russia might take, including even the potential use of nuclear weapons. This focused the mind greatly. But I believe we managed to handle it in a way that avoids direct conflict with Russia."

According to the U.S. Secretary of State, Russia is currently involved in "all sorts of nefarious activities, so-called hybrid attacks of one kind or another, whether in cyberspace, or through sabotage, or assassinations."

Reminder

The U.S. Secretary of State declared the intention to put Ukraine on the path to NATO and warned of the risks of a ceasefire. He stated that a truce would give Putin the opportunity to regroup for a new attack.
