January 2 is celebrated as World Introvert Day and Science Fiction Day.
On this day in 1944, helicopters were used in combat for the first time: three aircraft designed by Sikorsky participated in escorting a British Atlantic convoy.

Science Fiction Day
January 2 marks Science Fiction Day. Among enthusiasts of various journalistic genres, many fans of science fiction are united by their love for this genre in literature, cinema, and other forms of art.
Many critics and writers consider the ideas of science fiction authors to be prophetic visions veiled by the unknown future, attempts to recreate scenarios for the development of humanity. This very uncertainty and the quest to go beyond what is already known have attracted and continue to attract the minds of science fiction writers and readers alike.
World Introvert Day
January 2, 2011, marked the first unofficial yet globally recognized World Introvert Day.
An introvert is a person immersed in their inner world, characterized by a greater focus on their own feelings and thoughts. They often find it more challenging than extroverts to establish social connections and interact with the outside world.
However, it is important not to confuse introverts with lazy individuals or misanthropes. Laziness refers to a reluctance to do anything, misanthropy is antisocial behavior, while introversion is a unique aspect of a person's thinking.
A true introvert is far from being lazy; rather, their efforts are directed towards self-analysis and contemplation of their inner world. Such individuals often become philosophers, inventors, scientists, writers, and poets, which requires no less effort than communicating with others.
