Day of Opposites

The Day of Opposites, or the Day of Contrasts, features a playful concept that often appeals to children, flipping familiar things upside down and encouraging people to say and do the opposite.

Weather Observation Day

Weather Observation Day, celebrated on January 25, encourages people to take a closer look at nature and learn to understand atmospheric phenomena. Church holiday:

Day of honoring the memory of Saint Gregory the Theologian. This day is also known among the people as Gregory the Winter Indicator.

The saint was a Byzantine theologian, Archbishop of Constantinople, Father of the Church, and Patriarch. Gregory was born around 329 in the Cappadocian city of Arianz and died there on January 25, 389.

The saint led an extremely ascetic lifestyle: he consumed only vegetables, bread, and water, slept on the ground, owned very few clothes, and never wore shoes. Gregory the Theologian left a rich legacy of sermons, epistles, and spiritual verses.
