Jolie, 49, and Pitt, 61, signed the divorce agreement on Monday, December 30, according to Jolie's attorneys.

“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all the property they shared with Mr. Pitt, and since then she has focused on finding peace and healing for her family,” stated Jolie's attorney, James Simon, in a statement to People. “This is just one part of a long process that began eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is glad that this part is behind her.”

A source close to Jolie added, “She does not speak ill of [Pitt] either publicly or privately. She is trying her best to stay positive after dark times.”

Pitt's representative declined to confirm or comment.
