A bus accident involving two buses in Bolivia has claimed the lives of at least 37 people, with dozens more injured, according to Reuters.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning on the highway between the cities of Uyuni and Colchani in the western Potosí region, when one of the vehicles veered into oncoming traffic. "As a result of this fatal accident, we have 39 individuals hospitalized with injuries across four hospitals in Uyuni, and 37 people have lost their lives," stated a representative from the Potosí departmental police command to reporters.
Preliminary investigations indicate that one of the buses crossed into oncoming traffic, likely due to speeding, leading to the collision.
