The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, will visit Ukraine on February 4 due to the unstable situation amid the ongoing war with Russia, according to an IAEA statement.
"As long as this terrible war continues, the IAEA will remain present and active, focused on doing everything possible to maintain nuclear safety in the most challenging circumstances. Since the overall situation remains unstable and fragile, our work there is crucial," Grossi's words are quoted on the website.
It is reported that the agency's director general will arrive in Ukraine for a high-level meeting in Kyiv, during which current IAEA efforts to prevent a nuclear accident during the military conflict will be discussed.
This will be Grossi's 11th mission to Ukraine.
