The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a unified form and requirements for conclusions on the issuance of integrated environmental permits in Ukraine, which are one of the steps in providing integrated environmental permits to enterprises as part of the reform aimed at reducing industrial pollution and its control.
As reported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine on Telegram on Tuesday, the conclusions will be provided by the State Environmental Inspection, the State Water Agency, the State Emergency Service, the Ministry of Health, the State Energy Efficiency Agency, regional military administrations, and other authorities. Based on these conclusions, the Ministry of Environment will make a decision on the issuance of integrated environmental permits.
"This is the first resolution adopted in implementation of the law on integrated prevention and control of industrial pollution and is part of a larger reform. Overall, we plan to adopt about 20 more regulatory acts. All of them will undergo discussions, ensuring transparency and public involvement," noted the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Svitlana Hrynchuk.
Earlier, in July 2024, a law "On Integrated Prevention and Control of Industrial Pollution" was adopted in Ukraine, which implements Chapters 1, 2, and 7 of Directive 2010/75/EU and establishes a basis for industrial enterprises to obtain integrated environmental permits for each installation. Each enterprise that will receive an integrated permit must operate in accordance with available European technologies and management methods, the department explained.
