The U.S. Congress officially confirmed Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 presidential elections on Monday, reports CNN.
The network specifies that the vote counting proceeded smoothly, with no objections or disturbances arising.
Vice President Kamala Harris, who oversaw the process as the Senate chair, announced the certification of the count.
It is reported that under the law, this statement will be considered final or, in legal terms, "shall be regarded as a sufficient statement of the persons" elected as president and vice president.
Trump will be sworn in on January 20.
