According to preliminary reports, Lukashenko has won the latest presidential elections in Belarus with a result of 86.82%, as stated by the Central Election Commission.

"Preliminary information on the number of votes cast for each presidential candidate in the Republic of Belarus: Oleg Gaydukevich - 2.02%, Anna Kanopatskaya - 1.86%, Alexander Lukashenko - 86.82%, Sergey Syrankov - 3.21%, Alexander Khizhnyak - 1.74%, against all - 3.60%," the Central Election Commission informed.

The final voter turnout for the recent presidential elections was reported to be 85.7%, according to the CEC. Elections are considered valid when more than half of the registered voters participate. A president is deemed elected if they receive more than half of the votes cast.

Five candidates competed for the presidency. In addition to Lukashenko, who has held the highest state office since 1994, the candidates included Oleg Gaydukevich (a parliament member and chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party), Alexander Khizhnyak (chairman of the Republican Party of Labor and Justice), Anna Kanopatskaya (former parliament member and presidential candidate in the 2020 elections), and Sergey Syrankov (first secretary of the Belarusian Communist Party).

The final results of the election will be announced by the CEC within 10 days - no later than February 5.
