The Ministry of Health has reached an agreement with manufacturers to reduce prices on over 100 additional medications.

The Ministry of Health has reached an agreement with domestic manufacturers to further reduce prices for over 100 medications starting in March.

According to the Ministry of Health, these medications are not included in the top hundred most popular drugs.

The list of medications has been compiled based on proposals submitted to the agency by 13 manufacturers:

"Pharma Start" (ASIPO company), "Valartin Pharma", "Astrafarm", "Biopharma Plasma", "Infusion", "Pharmaceutical Company 'Zdorovye'", "Pharmfirm 'Viola'", JSC "Lekhim", CHA "Technolog", LLC "NPF 'Microkhim'", "Novopharm-Biosynthesis", "Ternopharm", "Lubnyfarm", "Pharmatrade".

"The list includes pain relievers, sorbents, antacids, human immunoglobulins, antibiotics, anesthetics, antiepileptic medications, cough suppressants, antipyretics, drugs used to regulate blood pressure, vitamins, and trace elements," the Ministry of Health reports.

As clarified on his Facebook page by Health Minister Viktor Lyashko, more than 70 items among these medications are included in the National List of Medications, and an additional 35 are prescription medications that can only be purchased and used with a prescription.

As previously reported, domestic manufacturers of the most popular medications signed a declaration to reduce prices by 30% on the 100 most popular drugs starting March 1. Among the signatories are the association "Producers of Medicines of Ukraine" (AVLU) and pharmaceutical companies "Pharmak", "Borshchahivskiy Chemical Pharmaceutical Plant" (BCHFZ), "Darnitsa", the corporation "Arterium", the Kyiv Vitamin Plant, "Yuria-Pharm", "Interchem", "Kusum Pharm", and the pharmaceutical factory "Viola".

The list of the 100 most popular medications frequently purchased by Ukrainians includes 20 items from the pharmaceutical company "Darnitsa", 17 from "Pharmak", 22 from the Kyiv Vitamin Plant, five from "Kusum Pharm", six from "Yuria-Pharm", eight from "Arterium", two from "Viola", three from BCHFZ, and 10 from "Interchem".

Earlier, the government, in accordance with a presidential decree, reduced the maximum supply and distribution markups on medications from 10% to 8%, and also introduced maximum retail markups not exceeding 35%, calculated on the purchase price including taxes.
