Russian occupiers launched an attack on Ukraine on Monday night using 104 strike drones of the "Shahed" type and various types of imitation drones. Of these, 57 were shot down, while 39 enemy imitation drones were lost without negative consequences, as reported by the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"As of 09:00, it has been confirmed that 57 strike UAVs of the "Shahed" type and other types of drones were shot down in the Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions," the report states.
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"As a result of the Russian UAV attack, the Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Kyiv regions were affected. Infrastructure facilities, apartment buildings, and private homes were damaged. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties, and assistance is being provided to the affected individuals. Special services are working to eliminate the consequences of the enemy attack," the report says.
The number of injured has not been specified.
