Podolyak on the postponement of Trump's special representative's visit to Kyiv: it's a positive sign.

The postponement of the visit by Donald Trump's future special representative for Ukraine, Kurt Volker, is a positive sign, as it indicates that the Trump administration has a deep understanding of the nature of this war and recognizes the need to seek significant tools to influence Russia, believes Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the President's Office.

The postponement of the visit by Donald Trump's future special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, is a positive signal, as it indicates that the Trump administration has a deep understanding of the nature of this war and recognizes the need to seek substantial tools for influencing the Russian Federation, believes Mikhail Podolyak, advisor to the head of the President's Office.

“This is absolutely a positive signal because it shows that within Mr. Trump's transitional administration, there is already a profound understanding of the nature of this war, a deep comprehension of Russia's motives, and a clear realization that asking Russia for something will not yield an adequate response. It is necessary to genuinely seek significant influence over the Russian Federation,” Podolyak stated during a national telethon on Tuesday.

According to him, the postponement of Kellogg's visit also suggests that the Trump administration is delving into the information provided by intelligence agencies, analytical centers, and so forth, and “has a clearer picture of what this war is about, what potential solutions exist, and which solutions can actually be implemented, among other things.”

As reported, Donald Trump's future special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, has postponed his introductory trip to Kyiv and other European capitals until after the inauguration of the elected U.S. president, which will take place on January 20.
