The police in the Zaporizhzhia region will switch to an enhanced operational mode on January 6th and 7th during the festive services held in local churches, reports the communication department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Zaporizhzhia region.

According to the police, the religious events on January 6th (Epiphany) and January 7th (Christmas according to the Julian calendar) will take place in the Zaporizhzhia region with consideration of the martial law and curfew.

To ensure the safety of worshippers, approximately 440 police officers will be responsible for maintaining law and order in the region. Before the services on January 6th and 7th, local churches and their surrounding areas will be inspected by bomb disposal units, as well as canine units with service dogs.

Enhanced police patrols, including over 50 foot patrols and 143 vehicle patrols, will monitor public safety in areas where large crowds may gather.

Additionally, police in the region emphasize that there is a ban on visiting popular recreational areas near water bodies and on conducting traditional Epiphany bathing until the end of martial law.

Zaporizhzhia law enforcement urges citizens to avoid crowded places during these days, to heed air raid signals, and to understand the police's preventive measures.
