The Israeli ambassador to Ukraine, Michaël Brodsky, denies any intention to transfer Russian weapons captured in Lebanon to Ukraine, reports "Radio Liberty".
As reported, last week, Ukraine's ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Korniychuk, met with Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister, Sharren Haskel, and expressed gratitude for such an initiative.
"I might disappoint you a bit, but this is not an initiative of Israel; there seems to be some misunderstanding. Someone probably misinterpreted something. When Sharren Haskel was still a member of parliament and not the Deputy Foreign Minister, she proposed a private legislative initiative for Israel to transfer captured Russian-made weapons to Ukraine. This initiative did not progress in the Knesset," Brodsky stated.
According to him, since then she has become the Deputy Foreign Minister and can no longer submit private legislative initiatives as a government member. "The issue of weapon transfer is entirely within the purview of the army and the Ministry of Defense. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has not made any such decision."
