Air forces shot down 47 of 72 enemy drones, while 24 drones were lost to radar detection, according to reports from the Air Force.

On the night of January 2nd (starting from 7:00 PM on January 1st), the enemy launched an attack with 72 strike drones of the "Shahed" type and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles from the directions of Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), according to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the night of January 2 (starting from 19:00 on January 1), the enemy launched an attack with 72 strike drones of the "Shahed" type and other types of UAVs from the directions of Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), report the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"As of 08:30, the destruction of 47 strike drones of the 'Shahed' type and other types of UAVs has been confirmed in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions," the report states.

It is also noted that "due to the active resistance of the Defense Forces, 24 enemy imitation drones were lost in a locational manner (without negative consequences). One UAV remains airborne."

The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
