Talks about the return of the State Film Agency to the Ministry of Culture are ongoing, according to Tochitsky.

The Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Mykola Tochitsky, has stated that discussions are currently underway regarding the return of the State Agency for Cinema to the management of the Ministry of Culture.

The Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Mykola Tochitsky, states that discussions are currently underway regarding the return of the State Agency for Film to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture.

"This should be a government decision (about returning the State Film Agency to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture - IF-U)… When the government makes such a decision, I will welcome it," Tochitsky said in an interview with the project "Karpyak on Suspilne" on Thursday evening.

The minister noted that he is not opposed to such a decision and added that conversations are ongoing, with dialogue taking place among individuals in the film industry.

"If such a decision is made, the ministry will embrace it appropriately. Since it (the State Film Agency - IF-U) was part of this ministry," he stated, emphasizing that cinema is an integral part of the ministry's activities and culture.

As reported, in November 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers transferred the State Film Agency to the coordination of the government.

In January 2024, Rostyslav Karandeiev, who served as the acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy in 2021, stated that he considers the return of the State Agency for Film to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture to be logical.
