Over the past day, there have been 266 combat engagements reported, with approximately half of all attacks occurring in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Vremivka directions, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Wednesday, December 25.
"In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders halted 60 assault and offensive actions by the aggressor in the areas of Vozdvizhenska, Myroliubivka, Promen, Lysovka, Novo Trud, Dachenka, Shevchenko, Volchyi, and Novovasyliivka," the report states.
Meanwhile, in the Kurakhove direction, the Defense Forces repelled 36 attacks. The occupiers actively attempted to advance near Petropavlivka, Shevchenko, and in the area of Kurakhove.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy conducted 34 assaults on our positions in the areas of Uspenivka, Yantarne, Konstantinopil, Razliv, Razdolne, Novo Komar, Novosilka, and Bolshaya Novosilka.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy launched five assaults near Volchansk and Vysoka Yaruga.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were 23 attacks by the invaders over the day. The Defense Forces repelled the enemy's assault actions near Petropavlivka, Kolesnykivka, Zahryzovo, and Lozova.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 31 times, attempting to breach our defenses near the settlements of Druzhlyubivka, Zelenyi Hai, Novoihorivka, Makeivka, Ternov, Torske, and in the direction of Hryhorivka.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one assault by Russian invaders near Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked 14 times in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Predtechyne.
In the Toretsk direction, the aggressor made 16 attempts to advance on the positions of Ukrainian units near Toretsk, Druzhba, and Dachne.
The invaders made four unsuccessful attempts to displace the Defense Forces from their occupied positions in the Dnipro direction.
The General Staff noted that operations are ongoing in the Kursk region, where 37 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and invaders occurred over the past day.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy from the territory of the Russian Federation is actively using artillery against areas of Ukrainian settlements.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected.
