The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, has proposed to hold negotiations for a peaceful resolution to the war between Russia and Ukraine on the territory of his country, stated Vladimir Putin.
"As for the venue, he (Fico - IF) mentioned that if negotiations take place, they would be happy to provide his country as a platform for these talks," Russian media quote Putin.
According to him, "Slovakia maintains a neutral position." "From our perspective, this position is neutral and is an acceptable option for us," Putin added.
He also claims that Russia "also seeks to end the conflict."
The head of the aggressor state also commented on statements made by representatives of the current and future administrations of the United States regarding the notion that the war in Ukraine could supposedly be frozen on the condition of a "guaranteed postponement of Ukraine's accession to NATO for 10-20 years."
"For us, what difference does it make - today, tomorrow, or in 10 years? In this sense - I am not familiar with these statements from the future team of the elected president, - but if that is the case, then what is the difference between the current administration and the proposals you just mentioned? There is no difference. I do not know how the situation will develop further, what directives the elected president will give to his colleagues in the administration. We will see," Putin said.
