The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, stated that the war instigated by Russia must come to an end, while former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged for calm and reminded everyone that the U.S. and Ukraine are on the same side.
"Thanks to President Trump, the days when America was used and looked down upon are over. The death and destruction caused by the war instigated by Russia must cease immediately, and only our American president can guide these two countries towards a lasting peace," wrote the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
He noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should recognize this and accept the urgent proposal for a partnership regarding mineral rights that Trump put on the table. "Today in the Oval Office, we saw how the American president prioritized America," Johnson emphasized.
Meanwhile, the former British Prime Minister called for a moment to cool down and remember that the U.S. and Ukraine are on the same side.
"For three years, Volodymyr Zelensky has heroically led his people against absolutely unprovoked aggression from Russia. The bravery of the Ukrainians has been impressive. Their suffering has been horrific. They are the ones who deserve our support and they unequivocally deserve our respect. The best path forward now is to sign the mineral agreement as quickly as possible. There is still a way to peace," he wrote on X.
