The Office of the President is initiating an extension for the re-medical examination of limited fitness conscripts in Ukraine, as a million individuals will not have enough time to undergo the VVK before February 4, said Deputy Head of the OP Irina Vereshchuk during a national telethon.
"Recently, the Office of the President has received requests from public organizations and individuals regarding this issue. We analyzed the situation and indeed saw that there is a problem, reported it to the President, and received instructions to take all urgent measures to adequately address the issue at hand," - Vereshchuk was quoted by the president's press service.
According to her, with the participation of members of parliament, necessary legislative amendments are being developed, which involve extending the time for the re-medical examination by at least 3 months and postponing penalties.
"Additionally, the Cabinet of Ministers will amend resolution No. 560, allowing the Ministry of Defense and TCK to electronically notify Ukrainians about the date and time of the VVK. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health must also ensure proper schedules for VVK operations," - the press service reports.
"We are addressing the issue of schedules, the directions themselves, and the categories of individuals, because we have different categories of limited fitness: there are military personnel, conscripts, reservists, and those who have not yet turned 25," - explained Vereshchuk.
She will also initiate changes regarding those with limited fitness "who have not reached mobilization age, so that they do not undergo VVK for now and are not subjected to penalties."
