The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has announced the suspension of the United for Ukraine program for Ukrainians fleeing to the U.S. from the war, reports Voice of America on Tuesday.
"Due to the executive order dated January 20, 2025, titled 'Protecting Our Borders,' the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is suspending the acceptance of Form I-134A, the online request for support, and declarations of financial support," the agency stated.
Currently, the application process is on hold while the agency reviews all requests that have already been submitted, according to the announcement.
As previously reported, the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) program is a streamlined initiative designed to provide humanitarian entry permissions to citizens of Ukraine fleeing the war.
