Throughout the duration of the war, the United States has allocated $177 billion to Ukraine; however, we have not received half of that amount, stated President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"If we take, for example, the funds from the United States, during this entire time of war, a decision has been voted or made for about $177 billion. Let's be honest. We have not received half of that money," Zelensky said in an interview with Lex Fridman, published on Sunday.
Additionally, the president mentioned that he requested the American side to allow the transport of weapons provided by the U.S. for Ukraine using "Antonov" cargo planes that were in Europe due to the war, but his request was denied.
"And no, I was not given that opportunity. My planes were grounded, while this weaponry was transported by American planes, cargo planes. But everywhere we have to spend money, so we could have received more armaments, but we had to pay for those very expensive planes," the head of state explained.
At the same time, Zelensky noted that "some companies are involved in lobbying such decisions, which take these decisions," but he cannot speak about it openly.
