President-elect Donald Trump criticized President Joe Biden's negotiation tactics with Ukraine, stating that the war "could escalate."

"Most of the issue has been with Russia for many years, long before Putin claimed that NATO could never interfere in Ukraine’s affairs… It was set in stone. And Biden said, 'No, they should be allowed to join NATO.' Then Russia has someone right at their doorstep. I can understand their feelings about this," he remarked at a press conference in Mar-a-Lago (Florida) on Tuesday.

Trump also added that “many mistakes were made in these negotiations.”

“When I heard Biden negotiating, I said, 'You will end up with war.' And it turned out to be a very bad war. And it could escalate. This war could escalate and get much worse than it is now,” the president-elect continued.

According to Trump, “there was a deal, and then Biden tore it up.” “They had a deal that would have been satisfactory for Ukraine and everyone else. But Biden said, 'No, you must be able to join NATO,'” he pointed out.
