President-elect Donald Trump stated that he looks forward to meeting with Vladimir Putin to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.
"One of the things I want to do, and do it quickly, and President Putin said he wants to meet with me as soon as possible. So we will wait for that; we must put an end to this war," the President-elect of the United States declared during a public speech in Phoenix, Arizona, which was broadcast by Fox News.
Trump also mentioned that the casualty count in the war is in the millions and that it would not have begun if he had been in office at the time.
Earlier, on December 19, Putin stated that he had not communicated with Trump for four years, is open to contacts and a meeting, but does not know when that might happen.
