Ukraine, together with the European Union, condemned the recent provocative launch of a medium-range ballistic missile by North Korea, stated the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Georgiy Tikhiy.
"Ukraine expresses solidarity with our partners in Japan and South Korea. It should be noted that Pyongyang acts with the support of the Moscow regime. To deter them, strong collective actions are necessary," Tikhiy wrote on social media platform X.
Previously, the European External Action Service expressed its condemnation of the missile launch conducted by North Korea.
"The EU expresses full solidarity with its partners in the region, particularly with South Korea and Japan. The EU strongly urges North Korea to cease such illegal, escalatory actions and to accept the proposals of key parties for dialogue. This is the only path to sustainable peace and security on the Korean Peninsula," the statement from the EEAS said.
As reported, North Korea successfully tested its latest hypersonic ballistic missile last Monday. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who observed the missile test via video link, stated that the new missile "is capable of delivering a powerful military strike against adversaries, effectively overcoming any dense missile defense system."
On the eve of this event, North Korea launched a ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan. The "Renhap" agency noted that the missile launch coincided with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to Seoul for talks with his South Korean counterpart regarding deterring threats from the North.
