Kyiv authorities will reconsider the decision to halt transportation during air raid alerts, according to the Kyiv City State Administration.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко, announced the need to reassess the decisions regarding the operation of public transport during alerts, as reported by the KMVA.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA), Timur Tkachенко, has stated the need to reconsider decisions regarding the operation of city transport during alerts, as reported by the KMVA.

"Open dialogue and professional analysis are the foundation of effective and balanced decisions. The functioning of the city must also be balanced: the safety and mobility of Kyiv residents is a priority," noted the head of the KCMA during a roundtable on ensuring reliable public transport operations during air alerts in Kyiv.

Tkachенко pointed out that he has not received any documented analytical justifications for this (transport stoppage – IF-U) decision.

The event was part of the search for tools to develop an effective strategy for ensuring the safety and mobility of Kyiv residents under martial law.

As the head of the KCMA emphasized, the decision made by the Defense Council is being implemented selectively, as it states that all transport – both public and private – should stop, yet this is not happening in practice.

All parties in the discussion advocated for a measured, comprehensive approach that would consider both safety and transport aspects.

These developments, according to Tkachенко, will be presented at one of the upcoming meetings of the Defense Council.

"The KCMA is open to cooperation with experts and the public to develop tools that will put an end to the transport crisis while fully implementing the safety component," the agency emphasized.
