Poland is disappointed with the outcome of the presidential elections in Belarus.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland expresses its disappointment regarding the presidential elections in Belarus, which took place on Sunday amid violations of fundamental democratic procedures, according to the department's website.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland expresses disappointment over the presidential elections in Belarus, which took place on Sunday with violations of fundamental democratic procedures, according to the ministry's website.

"Due to the actions of the authorities, independent candidates were unable to participate in the elections. The campaign was accompanied by repression against political opponents and intimidation of representatives of Belarusian civil society. In an environment of pervasive censorship and state propaganda, a significant portion of Belarusians lacked access to independent and reliable information. As a result of these actions, Belarusian society was effectively deprived of its right to vote," the statement said.

It is noted that these factors prevent the results of the elections from being considered credible and reflective of the will of the Belarusian people, who have repeatedly demonstrated their maturity and understanding of democratic processes throughout recent history.

"Only openness to dialogue, willingness to cooperate, and adherence to the standards of the UN and OSCE, as well as the fundamental rights of every individual, will ensure the development and prosperity of Belarus. Poland continues to urge the authorities of the Republic of Belarus to initiate a process that will lead to the creation of a truly free and democratic Belarus without political prisoners and persecution, one that all citizens will take pride in," emphasized the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, ironically responded to the exit poll results from the elections in Belarus. "Only 87.6% of Belarusians love their motherland?! Or will the rest fit into prisons?" he wrote on X.

As reported, the presidential elections in Belarus concluded on Sunday, with polling stations closing at 8:00 PM local time.

The European Union calls for the immediate release of political prisoners in Belarus, as the elections were illegitimate due to falsifications, repression, and restrictions on citizens' rights.
