Во время голосования за членов Общественного антикоррсовета при Минобороны была предотвращена возможная DDoS-атака.

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digitalization, Ekaterina Chernogorenko, announced the successful conduct of online elections for the Public Anti-Corruption Council at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, despite a DDoS attack.

“The first voting had to be postponed due to a system failure. This was a lesson for us.

The second time, I took personal control of the process – we analyzed all the mistakes and carried out our work transparently and conveniently for citizens. By the way, even the DDoS attack, including from the enemy who cannot hold honest elections themselves, did not stop us. During the voting, we blocked over 1.1 million requests to the server that constituted a potential DDoS attack (more than 300,000 of which came from Belarusian IP addresses),” she wrote on Facebook on Tuesday evening.

According to Chernogorenko, thanks to the efforts of the Cyber Incident Response Center, the perpetrators were unable to compromise the voting results.

“Ukrainians deserve democratic tools even during wartime, and no one will stop us in this!” she added.

As reported, the rating online voting for the selection of members of the Public Anti-Corruption Council at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine took place on Tuesday, January 7, until 21:00.

On December 26, 2024, during the previous attempt to conduct rating online voting for members of the Public Anti-Corruption Council at the Ministry of Defense, there were technical failures, and the agency announced the postponement of voting to January 7, 2025. The reason for the failure was internal technical malfunctions, specifically unstable website performance and authentication errors for users.
