Among the North Korean soldiers fighting alongside Russia in the Kursk region, significant losses are being observed, leading to ongoing rotation measures, stated Andrey Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"We can confirm substantial losses among the personnel of the North Korean military, who are operating under conditional cover, using false documents on Russian territory, and waging an aggressive war against Ukrainian forces as part of this conflict. These significant losses necessitate rotation and replacement measures, which are currently taking place," he said during a telethon on Friday evening.
Yusov also reported that military support from Russia by the North Korean regime continues, both in terms of personnel and resources.
"When it becomes possible to make certain official statements, they will definitely be made. However, what international colleagues and journalists are reporting—confirming substantial losses—indicates that units, after a certain percentage of personnel depletion, cannot fulfill their assigned tasks. Therefore, yes, rotational measures are indeed happening," the GUR noted.
Earlier, the American publication The New York Times, citing officials from Ukraine and the U.S., reported that North Korean soldiers fighting for Russia against Ukraine had been withdrawn from the front line in the Kursk region after suffering significant losses.
