The Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 34 enemy drones, while 47 unmanned aerial vehicles failed to reach their targets and were lost due to location issues, reports the Air Force Command.
"On the night of January 4, 2025 (from 19:00 on January 3), the enemy launched an attack with 81 strike drones of the 'Shahed' type and various types of mimicry drones from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk - rf," the statement said in a Telegram message on Saturday.
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"As of 09:00, it has been confirmed that 34 strike drones of the 'Shahed' type and other types of drones were shot down in the regions of Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Mykolaiv.
Due to the active resistance of the Defense Forces, 47 enemy mimicry drones were lost (without negative consequences). However, the downed drones caused damage in Chernihiv and Sumy regions, damaging private homes. Assistance is being provided to the affected," the Air Forces report.
