The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, met with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, following the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. During their meeting, the parties discussed continued support for Ukraine and the potential formats for security guarantees for the country.
"I met with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron. We discussed further support for Ukraine, with a particular focus on cooperation in the field of security and possible formats for security guarantees for Ukraine and all of Europe. We are counting on France's support in the negotiation process for EU membership," Zelensky wrote on Telegram on Monday evening.
Zelensky also expressed gratitude to Emmanuel Macron for his support of Ukraine and military assistance. Since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, France has provided defense support amounting to 6 billion euros.
