The President of Ukraine congratulated the leader of the CDU, Friedrich Merz, on his victory in the parliamentary elections in Germany on Sunday.
"Congratulations to the CDU/CSU and Friedrich Merz on their victory in the Bundestag elections. The clear voice of the voters, and we see how important this is for Europe," Zelensky wrote on the X platform.
He noted that he looks forward to continuing joint efforts with Germany to protect lives and bring peace to Ukraine, as well as to strengthen Europe.
"Europe needs to be able to defend itself, develop its industries, and achieve the necessary results. Europe requires collective successes, and these successes will bring even more unity to Europe," Zelensky emphasized.
