The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed his hope that 2025 will be the year of Ukraine, emphasizing that in the coming year, everyone must fight for our nation, which will be strong enough.
"Every day in the upcoming year, I, along with all of us, must fight for Ukraine to be strong. Because only a strong Ukraine is respected and heard. Both on the battlefield and at the negotiating table," Zelensky stated in his New Year’s address.
The President also expressed gratitude to everyone who stood by Ukraine in 2024, including partners, allies, friends, leaders, as well as the Ukrainian army, government, regions, and volunteers.
"Thank you to everyone who has helped Ukraine endure and prevail. It will overcome its path to peace, a strong Ukraine. And to a European Ukraine. This is no longer just words - it is a reality that began in June of this year with the start of negotiations for Ukraine's EU membership," Zelensky reminded.
He emphasized that Ukraine will join the European Union and will one day be part of NATO, thereby strengthening the Alliance.
"It will enhance the resilience of peace. The unity of Europe, which determines the fate of every nation on the continent. This unity must be respected by all, including Budapest and Bratislava," the president underscored.
"Let 2025 be our year, the year of Ukraine. We know that peace will not be handed to us. But we will do everything to stop Russia and end the war. This is what each of us desires," Zelensky concluded.
