Last night, drones from the SBU, SSO, and GUR struck the Sverdlov factory in the city of Dzerzhinsk in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This facility is a component of the Russian military-industrial complex and is under sanctions from the EU and the USA, as the products manufactured there are utilized in the war against Ukraine.

Following the "visit" from the Ukrainian drones, Russians took to social media all night discussing the strikes on the factory, the terrifying "bangs," and asking "what's happening?".

"The SBU has worked on tightening sanctions against the Sverdlov factory. In addition to economic sanctions, we have added a drone, which provides an immediate effect. Efforts to reduce the enemy's military capabilities will continue," reported an informed source in the SBU.

According to sources in Ukrainian intelligence, the facility was targeted using several dozen strike drones of Ukrainian manufacture. The distance to the target from the state border of Ukraine is approximately 900 km.

Reports from Russian Telegram channels indicate that explosions near the factory occurred around 4 AM. Shortly thereafter, local authorities announced an attempt by Russian air defense to repel the kamikaze drone attack. After the explosions, a thick column of smoke rose over the area of the facility.

At the Sverdlov factory, the enemy produces explosives, aviation and artillery shells, aerial bombs including KAB, warheads for cumulative anti-tank guided missiles, and warheads for air defense missile systems. It has been included in Ukraine's sanctions list "for supporting actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine." On June 23, 2023, the factory was added to the sanctions list of the European Union, and it is also under sanctions from the USA, UK, Japan, and Switzerland.

Let us remind you that on October 10, authorities announced the evacuation of the population from the village of Rodnikovoye in Adygea.
