The death toll from the missile strike in Poltava has risen to nine, according to the regional military administration.

The number of casualties from the missile strike on a multi-story residential building in Poltava has risen to nine, reported the regional military administration (OVA) on Saturday, February 1.

"Unfortunately, one more person has died as a result of the strike on the residential building," the OVA stated in their Telegram channel.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, there are 17 injured in Poltava, including 4 children. A total of 22 people have been rescued. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service and the National Police have assisted 194 individuals, including 11 children.

Rescuers are continuing emergency and rescue operations.

Earlier, it was reported that the strike in Poltava destroyed the entrance of the multi-story residential building from the 1st to the 5th floor, causing a fire. Eight people were reported dead, including a child, and 17 were injured, three of whom were children. Nearby buildings and 12 vehicles were damaged.
