Prosecutors from the Office of the General Prosecutor have submitted an indictment to the court against ten individuals who were involved in the distribution of psychotropic substances and narcotics as part of a criminal organization, reported the General Prosecutor's Office on Saturday.
"The investigation revealed that a criminal organization operated across several regions of Ukraine during 2023-2024, consisting of several organized groups. It was established by a resident of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region, who was part of the 'Dvadtsatovskye' group and is currently in custody in a pre-trial detention center as part of another criminal case. He directed the organization while in isolation," the press release from the General Prosecutor's Office states.
According to the GPU, the accused illegally manufactured, stored, transported for the purpose of sale, and sold methamphetamine and cannabis using the "stash" method. They also produced precursors that were subsequently used to manufacture psychotropics. All members of the criminal organization had clearly defined roles—some were directly involved in drug production, while others stored and sold them in bulk.
"The accused are charged with creating and leading a criminal organization and participating in it, illegal manufacturing, storage, transportation for the purpose of sale, and sale of narcotic substances, psychotropic substances, legalization of income obtained through criminal means, illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, and explosives (Part 1, 2 of Article 255, Part 3 of Article 307, Part 3 of Article 311, Part 2 of Article 317, Part 2 of Article 209, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The accused individuals are currently in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine, with operational support from the National Police of Ukraine.
