Spain will supply Ukraine with 10 generators and is developing a new humanitarian aid program for Ukrainian families, according to the defense minister.

Spain's Defense Minister Margarita Robles participated in the 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format) in Germany, where she reaffirmed strong support for Kyiv and updated her colleagues on the key details of new aid supplies.

The Spanish Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, participated in the 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein format) in Germany, where she reaffirmed strong support for Kyiv and briefed colleagues on the most significant details of new aid shipments.

According to the website of the Spanish Ministry of Defense, Robles highlighted the upcoming delivery of 10 generators, as well as the introduction of new training courses for the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a new humanitarian assistance program for Ukrainian families, which will commence on Sunday, January 12.

She also expressed gratitude to U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who last attended a meeting of the Contact Group in this format, noting "his leadership, commitment, and success in effectively coordinating military support for Ukraine from over 50 countries."

Meeting participants were informed about the most urgent short-term needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and discussed initiatives for support being implemented within various coalitions of forces and resources in support of Ukraine.

Robles also held bilateral meetings with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and her Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov.

The 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group is taking place on Thursday, December 9, at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany, following a long hiatus. The last, 24th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group was held on September 6 at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

Leaders of the capability coalition groups within the Ramstein format approved 8 "roadmaps" that outline the key objectives for the Defense Forces of Ukraine through 2027. The coalition roadmaps define Ukraine's strategic targets until 2027 and serve as a foundation for medium- and long-term support. We are also working to ensure that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are fully compatible with NATO forces, stated Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.

The first meeting at the Ramstein Air Base took place on April 26, 2022.
