The German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius suggests that German troops could potentially secure a buffer zone in Ukraine if a ceasefire is established, reports the Süddeutsche Zeitung on Saturday.
The Defense Minister considers the involvement of the Bundeswehr in safeguarding the buffer zone after a ceasefire to be a possibility. It is evident that Germany must take on this responsibility. Regarding the defense budget, Pistorius states that the focus should be on three percent of the gross domestic product, rather than two percent," as reported by Süddeutsche Zeitung.
As previously mentioned, during Boris Pistorius's visit to Kyiv on January 14, the issue of deploying foreign troops in Ukraine was not discussed.
