The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, announced that he discussed strengthening bilateral defense cooperation with his Turkish counterpart, Yasar Güler.
"Together with the President of Ukraine, I visited Turkey, where I held important negotiations with Defense Minister Yasar Güler and the Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu," he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
According to Umerov, the main focus of the conversation was on enhancing bilateral defense cooperation. They also discussed current security challenges, the further development of joint defense projects, and strengthening the capabilities of the Ukrainian forces.
"Turkey is our reliable strategic partner, and we greatly appreciate the support it provides to Ukraine. Our collaboration in the defense sector helps to enhance our resilience and effectiveness on the battlefield," emphasized the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
