At least 10 people have died in a hotel fire at a ski resort in Turkey.

A fire broke out on Tuesday at a hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort located in the Bolu region of northern Turkey, resulting in the deaths of at least 10 individuals, according to the Daily Sabah newspaper.

Additionally, 32 individuals sustained injuries.

The blaze started on the fourth floor of the 11-story hotel around 3:30 AM. A total of 30 fire trucks and 28 ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydin stated that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but noted that it originated on the floor where the restaurant is located. At the time of the incident, there were 234 guests staying in the hotel, Aydin added. Authorities have initiated an investigation.

The Kartalkaya ski resort, situated atop the Koroglu mountains, is a popular winter getaway. It is located approximately 40 kilometers from the city of Bolu and 270 kilometers from Istanbul.
