Netanyahu has ordered preparations for "intensive warfare" should Hezbollah breach the ceasefire.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to prepare for an intensive war if the Lebanese group Hezbollah violates the ceasefire, as reported by The Times of Israel. "I have instructed the IDF," Netanyahu stated. "If there is a serious breach of the agreement, we will not only act surgically, as we have been doing, and with force, each time. I have said that if there is a significant violation, I have tasked the IDF with preparing for an intense war," the publication quotes the Israeli leader. When asked why Israel is not establishing a buffer zone in southern Lebanon, Netanyahu noted that "the threat of a ground invasion has been removed." He added that the IDF has destroyed ground infrastructure along the border, including underground bunkers and tunnels. Earlier reports indicated that Israeli military forces and the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire, which took effect on November 27. Subsequently, Hamas announced its willingness to reach an agreement regarding Gaza, but emphasized that it must include an end to the conflict and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the enclave.
