The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is urging the Georgian authorities to initiate parliamentary elections, as reported by the head of the permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada to PACE, Maria Mezentseva (faction "Servant of the People").
"PACE has supported a resolution challenging the powers of the 'Georgian Dream' delegation. The demands to the government include: initiating parliamentary elections within the next few months (not in six months/a year/etc.) with a monitoring mechanism from international organizations (including PACE); releasing all political prisoners; and ensuring justice for peaceful protesters who faced violence," - wrote Mezentseva on Facebook on Wednesday evening.
