The suspect in the Christmas market attack in Magdeburg left a will for the Red Cross.
Taleb Al Abdulmohsen, the suspect in the attack on the Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, reportedly intended to die at the crime scene. Investigators discovered a will in his vehicle, as reported by SPIEGEL on December 24.
In the will, the detained individual stated that all his assets should be transferred to the German Red Cross upon his death, with no political messages included. According to SPIEGEL, the suspect rented a BMW on December 11, just a week before the attack. On December 12, he gave an interview to an Islamophobic American blog, claiming that Germany was allowing Islamist individuals from Syria into the country while simultaneously aiming to "destroy the lives of former Saudi Muslims." He believed that the German police were conducting a covert operation to pursue these individuals worldwide. Notably, in May 2024, Abdulmohsen posted on social media platform X expressing his expectation to die "this year."
Reports indicate that on December 20, at the Christmas market in Magdeburg (Saxony-Anhalt), a driver plowed into a crowd, resulting in around 200 injuries and five fatalities. Among the injured, 40 individuals were in critical condition, and one of the victims was a citizen of Ukraine.
