The Ukrainian Embassy in the Democratic Republic of Congo urged Ukrainians to stay indoors due to unrest in the country.

The Embassy of Ukraine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has issued a warning regarding the safety of Ukrainian citizens within the country due to ongoing civil unrest, as stated in a declaration released by the embassy on Tuesday.

The Embassy of Ukraine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has issued a warning regarding the danger faced by Ukrainian citizens in the territory of this state due to widespread unrest, as stated in a release published by the embassy on Tuesday.

"Mass protests in support of the regular army are taking place in Kinshasa, which have escalated into widespread disorder. Foreign diplomatic missions have become targets for demonstrators. At the same time, looting and destruction have affected shops and other establishments. Instances of violence against passersby have been recorded," the embassy reports.

"We urge all Ukrainian citizens currently in the DRC to exercise the utmost caution. DO NOT LEAVE your residence and minimize movement on the streets until the situation is stabilized," the diplomatic mission advises.

Additionally, the embassy provides a list of safety recommendations, including:

Do not leave your premises without urgent necessity, do not resist military personnel in the event of detention, refrain from publicly expressing any political views, stock up on drinking water, food supplies, and necessary medications, and prepare for potential disruptions in electricity supply, communication channels, etc.

Ukrainians are asked to inform the consular division of the Embassy of Ukraine in the DRC about their whereabouts.
