Ukrainian defenders shot down 57 strike drones of the Shahed type, along with other types of decoy drones, during the night of Wednesday, February 5, as reported by the Telegram channel of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"As of 09:00, the downing of 57 Shahed-type strike UAVs and other types of drones has been confirmed in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Kirovohrad regions," the report states.
Additionally, 42 enemy decoy drones were lost without any negative consequences.
"As a result of the enemy attack, the Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions were affected," the Air Forces reported.
No information has been provided regarding casualties or damage.
It is noted that on the night of February 5 (from 20:00 on February 4), the enemy launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Kursk region and 104 Shahed-type strike UAVs and decoy drones from the directions of Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk - RF.
