Starmer: I'm prepared to deploy British troops to Ukraine to ensure the implementation of peace agreements.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated that he is prepared to deploy British troops to Ukraine to ensure the implementation of any peace agreements, according to The Telegraph.
Стармер заявил о готовности ввести британские войска в Украину для обеспечения выполнения мирных соглашений.

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, stated that he is prepared to deploy British troops to Ukraine to ensure the fulfillment of any peace agreements, reports The Telegraph.

“The UK is ready to take a leading role in accelerating efforts to provide security guarantees for Ukraine. This includes further support for the Ukrainian military, to which the UK is already allocating £3 billion per year at least until 2030. It also signifies our readiness and willingness to contribute to ensuring Ukraine's security guarantees by deploying our own troops on the ground if necessary,” he noted in a column for the publication.

According to the British Prime Minister, “any role in helping to guarantee Ukraine's security contributes to ensuring the security of our continent and the safety of this country.”

Starmer is convinced that the end of the war cannot merely be a temporary pause before another attack from Vladimir Putin.

He stated that the UK can play a “unique role” as a bridge between Europe and the United States in the peace process in Ukraine.

In his column for The Telegraph, the Prime Minister wrote: “These crucial days ahead will determine the future security of our continent. As I will say in Paris, peace comes through strength. But the reverse is also true. Weakness leads to war.”

“This is a moment for all of us to step up - and the United Kingdom will do so because it is right for the values and freedoms we cherish, and because it is fundamentally important for our own national security,” the British official concluded.

The publication notes that it is unclear what exactly European-led peacekeeping forces in Ukraine will look like. However, one of the proposals to be discussed involves placing European soldiers further away from the front line that will be established in the peace agreement.
