Ukraine is in discussions with the United States regarding mobilization and its advancement, while continuing to emphasize the urgent need for rapid delivery of weapons, stated Georgiy Tikhiy, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"We are informing our partners about the dynamics and the number of mobilized individuals we have in Ukraine," he said during a briefing on Thursday.

According to Tikhiy, the question of lowering the mobilization age to 18 has never been a point of disagreement or tension during these discussions. "I can confirm that this topic is being discussed in negotiations. I can refute that it is a point of tension or that it is being discussed in a critical or negative light," he stated.

He emphasized that Ukraine does not view the issue of increasing mobilization as the main problem, contrary to how it is portrayed by foreign media citing sources. The more pressing concern at this time is indeed weaponry. "Currently, we have a situation in Ukraine where we do not have the adequate amount of weapons and equipment to equip the already mobilized individuals. We believe that the assistance that has already been announced – in terms of weaponry and equipment – should arrive more quickly. This has been our consistent position since the beginning of the full-scale war," he said.
