Ukraine has urged the IAEA and the world to condemn the morning attacks by the Russian Federation on Thursday against Ukrainian substations that connect nuclear power plants to the energy grid, which could pose a threat of a nuclear incident, stated Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.
"Today's Russian airstrikes were once again targeted at the substations linking Ukrainian nuclear power plants to the energy system. Europe and the world must understand that this morning Russia created a threat of a nuclear incident. We call on the IAEA and all nations to denounce these reckless attacks," he wrote on social media on Thursday evening.
He also added that yet another Russian missile and drone attack aimed at civilians and the energy system resulted in power outages across Ukraine.
"Putin does not want peace. We must compel him to peace through strength. The power of our air shield, long-range capabilities, and sanctions against his military machine," the Foreign Minister added.
As reported earlier on the morning of November 28, Ukraine's energy sector is once again under massive enemy attack, prompting the transmission system operator NEC "Ukrenergo" to urgently implement emergency power outages, stated Ukraine's Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko.
