Among the participants of the International Film Festival "Molodist" is the highly acclaimed Italian film "There is Still Tomorrow" ("C'e' ancora domani"). The screening is organized with the support of the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Ukraine.
“We are proud to present to the Ukrainian audience the achievements of contemporary Italian cinema: support for cultural initiatives is more important than ever in the challenging circumstances Ukraine is facing,” emphasized Ambassador Carlo Formosa, reminding that the film has gained significant success both in Italy and abroad, not only due to its direction and the performances of the actors but also because of its originality, which raises very relevant issues related to patriarchal culture, gender violence, and women's rights.
“Moreover, the film portrays Italy just emerging from the horrors of a military conflict and undergoing rapid democratization and the establishment of civil society: for an audience in a country at war, this is a positive message,” concluded the ambassador.
The events of the film, directed by and starring Paola Cortellesi, unfold in post-war Rome and tell the story of a housewife, Delia, who embarks on a journey after receiving a mysterious letter, striving to break free from the traditionally assigned role within her family in pursuit of a better future.
Screenings will take place at the Kyiv cinema "Zhovten" on Friday, November 1, at 5:00 PM and on Saturday, November 2, at 1:45 PM.
